I graduated from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in June of 1996. One of the few 4-year
graduates, I left with a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies with an English Minor.
It was a strange way to finish off college having started in architecture. I will never
forget Cal Poly President Warren Baker's address to the graduates, where all at one time
he conferred upon the College of Liberal Arts a Bachelors in "whatever particular field of
study." Unfortunately, my degree did not read as such.
It is funny how the world works, where after 22 years of life you are still just "starting out." And even now, it's been almost a year since I graduated and I wonder where I will be in another 22 years.
